Company Networking Sessions
Networking Sessions are open to all students and can be arranged to coincide with your On-Campus interviews to help increase your company visibility; increase student knowledge regarding company/openings; answer student questions; cover information which would otherwise take up interview time; talk to students who are unable to sign-up; and "pencil in" additional interviews if desired.
Career Services charges a $50 non-refundable fee for coordination of this service. Employers may schedule Networking Sessions either in connection with interviews or separately without interview dates. (However, it is highly recommended that you do have interviews scheduled as this is how students are made aware of your campus visit). Typically they are one to two hours in length and are held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, or 3:00 to 4:30, Tuesday through Thursday. We are unable to hold a Networking Session on the same day of any Career Fair. There are normally only 3 Networking Sessions scheduled per day on campus. If audiovisual equipment is required, we will coordinate those arrangements with Media Services, and they will bill you separately. Networking Sessions are publicized to students online via Mustang Jobs. Networking Sessions may also be publicized in the campus newspaper by calling (805) 756-1143. Charges vary upon advertisement size.
Due to exam schedules and student breaks, Networking Sessions can only be offered during the following times:
Fall Quarter: October 13th - November 20th, 2008
Winter Quarter: January 20 - March 5, 2009
Spring Quarter: April 20 - May 14, 2009
To schedule a Networking Session, the Career Services office must receive your online form at least ten days in advance of the date of your Networking Session. For maximum results, we recommend placing reservations thirty days in advance. This will allow more time for students to view and prepare for your event.
