Jane Johnson serves as the Career Counselor for the Orfaela College of Business. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Human Resource Management and a M.A. in Education, Counseling and Guidance both from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
To schedule an appointment with Jane please call 756-2501 x4. Jane has drop-in hours in Career Services, Bldg 124 on Mondays from 9:30 – 11:30 am and on Tuesdays in the Business Building, (Bldg 3, Rm. 100) from 2:00-3:30 pm. (except finals week, breaks, and summer).

Jane’s Advice:

"Network, Network, Network.... It’s all about relationship marketing. Continually look for opportunities to talk with individuals. Ask for a business card from everyone you meet. Utilize traditional channels like on-campus job fairs and networking sessions. Also, talk to everybody, everywhere! Network through your part-time work, in line at the movies, on planes and with neighbors, faculty and alumni from Cal Poly. Always follow up with a thank you letter to each individual and develop an organized system to keep track of your contacts.”
